Oh my aching back....

So we came up with a new and different way to study spelling words. It's called "sit on mommy's back and bounce after each letter." Or you could call it massage spelling. Thankfully the kids under 60 lbs, so he won't injure anyone. It did start hurting while bouncing after each letter, so we went with at the end of the word and if spelled correctly he could then bounce.

End of my third week of manual labor and I'm getting used to it. The transformation of the store is nothing short of miraculous. That steel tank gun I built was actually a TV table....yes with glass (extremely thick glass) shelves. It's a very nice table actually. I moved from end tables and coffee tables to beds and dressers. Which also involves wardrobes......rooms and rooms of wardrobes. I tend to head towards smallish, can fit in one box sort of things to build, just because why get in over you head if you don't have to. I'm sure there will be large items waiting for me on monday since I've now depleted the supply of small things. Since we'll have lockers with actual locks on Monday I'll take in my camera and see if I can't score a few photos for a sneek peek. Rumors are starting to stir up about friends and family day, which is before the actual opening on March 12. The friends and family day is March 8th. So you might want to show me how much you love me before then. Not sure how many folks I can invite. I've heard anywhere from like 10 to carloads? So who knows what's true. We practiced the chicken dance today at our all staff meeting.....something to do with preparing for grand opening....yikes....

Holy crap. Friends and family day?! I'm your friend, aren't I? :)

Yes, IKEA is the land of wardrobes and closet units - all those Europeans and NY'ers with tiny living spaces and tiny closets.

Did you build any MARKOR items? We need a bookcase and shelving unit to go with our basement TV stand and coffee table.

BTW, no nose piercing yet. Sick kid at home today and I have a cold. NOT conducive to nose piercing.

I think I might just be a better friend to you than Stacie is, though, so I think I am more deserving of a Friend and Family invite. Right? Of course, I'm not likely to have much money to spend, but I can walk through the store and drool on things, can't I?

I don't even live close enough to go -- :( SO Sad... (PS - I am an IKEA virgin, though!)

And the bouncing? That's a SUPER kinesthetic way to learn spelling!! If you have a mini-trampoline, it works the same way!

Gosh, we've had some good times in all our years of being BEST FRIENDS, haven't we? Kroger dancing, road trips, sneaking out, Showbiz, canoeing, weddings, babies ... man, it's going to be awesome to add FRIENDS & family day to the list of memories. Hee hee! Oh, man. I need to make a list!
